No straight road

An observation from one of the two most thoughtful and beautifully written books I have read on makers and making.

Get past the medium, in this case porcelain, in another wood, and the essence is the same: the care for detail, including and even in particular those details which ‘most people’ won’t even notice, at least consciously.

We will be sharing ideas and examples of making things beautifully.

There is no straight road to finding yourself, to making something.

See our celebration of de Waal’s pilgrimage in search of a white bowl.
